Student night out

Students are notorious the world over for finding deals, or being forced to find deals, and in Fallowfield that means looking for the best bang for their social buck as possible. Like many college towns/districts, Fallowfield has leapt at the chance to supply the unquenchable demand of students.

For a quiet night out with your mates, Trof on Monday’s is perfect. The food is excellent and the prices are affordable. The cozy nature of Trof just adds to the camaraderie of get-togethers.

On Tuesdays, the happening place to be is at XS Bar for the comedy night. The fashion pretensions get dropped for one night and this becomes a great little comedy club. Perhaps, not for the discount seeking crowd but XS Bar on a Tuesday makes for a great night out with that special someone.

The Queen of Hearts is the Wednesday night destination of students seeking a loud and beer-soaked reminder that the weekend really is approaching. With £1 pints after 10 pm, two outdoor pool tables and a heated smoking patio it is no wonder that The Queen is always packed to the rafters.

Thursdays are perfect for absorbing the class and atmosphere (and cheap vodka) from Revolution. Revolution features great DJs, but they play an ambient role which allows for more intimate conversations than at other clubs. Dress to impress, this is not a jeans and t-shirt type of place.

The weekend is yours to explore. There are many venues catering to the different musical appetites of Fallowfield’s students. Far be it for anyone to take away the joy of finding the best hot spot from you. Enjoy the journey; just remember to save money for the cab back to your dorm.
